Mixin' It Up

It's widely accepted that Mondays are rough by nature. Two days of weekend, breaking the routine, only to get back into gear and face everything you left on the week before. Likewise, getting motivated for the same daily work out routine, or the same place to go for lunch, or the same conversations when you come home can be difficult. Being enthusiastic about routine activities, chores or relationships is something that takes effort. How do you get your juice going for these things? One sure-fire solution: change it up. Approach it differently. Think about it from another perspective. This morning instead of the sprint run I do every Monday, I decided to vary it and go to the gym, try new machines, see other people. Sounds like nothing, but boy! That was fun! I really enjoyed and am looking forward to trying it again tomorrow! When you come home to your partner, think about what it's like for them to be coming home to you. I bet they did something interesting today that you may not know about. Start by asking them, or instead, ask if they want to join you for a brief walk to unwind. Are you eating the same thing for dinner that you eat 15 times a month? Have you tried grabbing produce from the market that you don't really know what it is? Or tried eating a meal that's only green and red? Whatever. It doesn't take much, and perhaps that's why it's so refreshing when you do try something new...it really doesn't take much to change things up a bit. What have you got to lose, anyway? Love to hear your ideas.
